ABOUT THE PHOTO DIRECTOR ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group (The Knot) seeks a talented photo director with 10 + years experience to join our team. This leadership position is responsible for production of all original content for The Knot magazines (National and Regional) and TheKnot.com. In addition to print, this role will collaborate with other visual teams across the company (marketing, product) to ensure all photos used for The Knot brand feel cohesive, as well as work on additional projects to support the marketing and product teams (about 10% of job function). The photo director manages 2 junior photo editors and is a creative collaborator with the EIC and Design Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce all photo shoots for The Knot Magazines from start to finish: commissioning photographers, hair, makeup, model casting, negotiating fees/contracts, booking crew, location scout and direct on set. Shoots are produced efficiently, on time, on brand and on budget.
  • Handle and oversee all photo editing and research for The Knot National and Regional Magazines.
  • Manage stock photography accounts and proper usage of the images. Oversee photo direction of TheKnot.com and social channels.
  • Oversee budgets for photo department.
  • Manage the invoice process including approvals, coding, and liasoning with accounting and Managing Editor.
  • Manage team workflow with Associate Digital Photo Editor and Assistant Photo Editor; strategize with Design Director and Managing Editor to stay on schedule.
  • Oversee workflow for inputting all photoshoot images into our DAM
  • Compile caption and credit information.
  • Create, concept and communicate photography direction. Attend creative meetings to pitch and share ideas. Identify and build relationships with new photographers, stylists and agents in the industry and maintain relationships with current photographers.
  • Oversee all photographic coverage of fast-paced Bridal Fashion Week bi-annually, as well as key tentpole events like the Dream Wedding and our Annual Gala.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product visual teams to ensure on-brand visuals.
  • Support on projects across our marketing and products teams, as needed.  

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years experience in a photo department of a major magazine. Experience managing direct reports necessary.
  • Impeccable visual sensibility and an ability to coach others to improve creative skills.
  • Substantial contacts with photographers, agents, stock houses, stylists, and model agencies.
  • Expert understanding of Adobe Photoshop and K4 (or similar workflow management tool), as well as knowledge of basic print production and color correction.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to clearly express ideas from brainstorming concepts to presenting final layouts to the team.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Social and Product for photo related needs,
  • Ability to multi-task various projects under tight deadlines.
  • Team-player with a passion for detail.
  • Passion for fashion, style and weddings.
  • Social Media and/or Video Production experience, a plus.

ABOUT THE BILLING COORDINATOR ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group is looking for a Billing Coordinator to join our Finance team. The XO Finance team provides financial results to support business decisions, SEC filings, and has fun while doing it! Our ideal candidate is flexible, highly-organized, detail-oriented, and is capable of handling sensitive data with care. You love working with others, collaborating and sharing responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process invoices, payments and related journal entries to accrue revenue.
  • Maintain customer accounts within database. Research any discrepancies.
  • Communicate daily with clients for billing inquires and requests.
  • Work with sales personnel to accurately bill customers.
  • Contribute to Monthly and Quarterly Close Process, including requests from auditors.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analytics.
  • Partner with other members of the finance team to organize internal audit documentation, month-end close checklists on a monthly basis, as needed.
  • Contribute to Finance team’s continuous process improvement and pursuit of excellence in systems and processes.
  • Assist in various Finance-led ad-hoc requests. 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of relatable experience.
  • Prior Accounts Receivable experience, a plus.
  • Experience with Great Plains, Cybersource, or Operative, a plus.

ABOUT THE FP&A ROLE AND OUR TEAM

Our FP&A team is the critical eyes and ears to the financial progress of our company.  This is the team that pulls together our numbers and analyzes our business in partnership with our executive teams.  We are seeking a new FP&A Analyst to join our effort adding another set of strong analytic and business skills to our team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and produce management reports, business performance dashboards, and key metric tracking tools across XO Group, Inc.
  • Create monthly, quarterly, annual budgets/forecasts with relevant business teams
  • Complete actual results vs. budget/forecast / prior year variance analysis including written business performance commentary
  • Collaboratively work with the business team(s) to accurately summarize and present results to Senior Management;
  • Serve as the conduit bridging sales team performance to income statement results; responsible for updating and vetting the weekly Sales / Revenue forecast
  • Ad hoc projects to model and summarize current and projected financial performance for potential business arrangements (partnerships, M&A, licensing, etc.)
  • Contribute to FP&A team’s pursuit of excellence in systems and processes; partner with the Business Intelligence team as necessary to automate reporting functionality; optimize the FP&A team’s use budgeting/forecasting software to standardize management reports

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting; formal training in entry-level banking or corporate training program, a plus
  • 3-5 years of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) experience 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; strong modeling skills, coupled with an understanding of financial reporting systems, procedures, and controls

XO Group is looking for an Investor Relations professional to join our Finance team.  The XO Finance team provides financial results to support business decisions, SEC filings,  and external and internal financial communication, Reporting to the Director, Investor Relations and Corporate Development, this individual will help manage the company’s interactions with Wall Street. In this role, you will also support the company’s corporate development initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with Director, Investor Relations on preparation and analysis of quarterly earnings call materials, including prepared remarks, investor presentation and Q&A documents

  • Conduct peer analyses and broader sector analysis on various investor relations topics
  • Manage the company’s participation in Wall Street conferences and organizing investor meetings

ABOUT THE PAYROLL MANAGER ROLE:

The Payroll Manager will manage 1 staff member and will be accountable for the payroll preparation, distribution and reporting processes for all US employees.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for providing support for payroll accounting, 401k and related regulatory reporting/filing requirements, and providing information and assistance to company personnel in all aspects related to payroll.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calculate payroll for all US (multi-state) employees in a timely and accurate manner using ADP
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as the Company's payroll and benefit policies/procedures
  • Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to create an efficient and scalable payroll support structure; cross-functionally collaborate with HR & Finance departments to do so
  • Establish organization-wide standards and best practices including developing and updating policies, procedures and workflows
  • Interface with internal and external individuals, departments and agencies to answer questions, resolve issues, provide required reports, obtain and share information related to payroll or payroll procedures
  • Ensure compliance of established payroll policies and procedures and incorporates procedural changes when necessary
  • Prepare/review monthly payroll journal entries and account reconciliations, provide research and analysis as necessary
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for payroll processes; validate accuracy of data feeds between ADP and vendors
  • Oversee annual 401k audit and Worker’s Compensation audit
  • Manage ESPP Enrollment/Purchase processes
  • Supervise daily work of the Payroll Coordinator

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; major in accounting or business preferred
  • 7-10 years of total experience in a corporate payroll department (3 years in a payroll management role) within a medium size company with multi-state locations
  • Prior experience using ADP payroll is required; Workforce Now 13 is a plus.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of multi-state payrolls as well as federal, state and local labor laws, employee benefit plans and payroll taxes
  • Excellent understanding of payroll processes, systems and practices
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel

ABOUT THE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

As an executive assistant at XO Group, you’ll have a birds-eye view of the entire organization and a chance to build relationships with employees and our leadership team. You will be responsible for executing fundamental administrative support for our C-suite executive team. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as Gatekeeper to senior executives: phones, mail, email, ensuring meetings start and end on time, and managing sensitive information.
  • Manage multiple calendars, schedule meetings and travel arrangements.

ABOUT THE ENTERPRISE PRODUCT MANAGER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

As our Enterprise Product Manager, you have experience with customer facing systems, are focused on understanding the ‘why’ when solving a problem, and have a passion for solving problems through technology.  You are a team player, who enjoys understanding business priorities to build a product roadmap, and understand the importance of building customer relationships. ACCOUNT MANAGER

This role will partner with the National Sales and Sales Planning teams and will support all post-sale and optimization efforts for a key set of accounts. This is a client facing role, focused on all post-sale activity and optimization between campaign launch and wrap- up.   • Be the main point of contact for clients post-sale

  • Troubleshoot as needed to ensure campaign success - work with internal teams to deliver solutions to client
  • Share campaign insights with pre-sales teams via weekly team calls and wrap-up reports, to help pre-sales teams successfully generate the next renewal and/or up-sell the client

About The Engineering Manager Registry Role and our Team:

The Knot’s registry product team is seeking an Engineering Manager to help lead one of the fastest growing and largest revenue generating products at XO. The Knot’s registry product is already the leading wedding registry product, used by a large percentage of brides in the US, and millions of guests. In 2018 we will be reinventing the product to maintain and increase our lead, and are looking for an incredibly strong engineering lead to manage one of the largest engineering squads at XO.

About the Software Engineer role and Our Team
