ABOUT THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group’s Finance team is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee all facets of  company-wide revenue recognition procedures in our monthly close process. This job is for you if you love numbers as much as you love being in a creative atmosphere.

You must be flexible, highly-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive data with care. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing revenue recognition in accordance with applicable revenue recognition standards for all revenue streams of the Company, including reviewing and interpreting new contracts, review of campaign under delivery and proper revenue recognition guidelines
  • Calculate quarterly bonuses and accruals for sales teams
  • Perform quarterly review of bad debt expense/allowance for doubtful accounts for aging receivables and present conclusions to the CFO
  • Coordinate proper expense recognition for direct cost of sale
  • Assist with system implementation efforts related to areas of responsibility
  • Review reconciliations on a monthly basis for all areas of responsibility
  • Perform financial analysis to support actual results vs. budget, forecast, and prior year variance analysis
  • Responsible for working with auditors on quarterly reviews, SOX controls testing, and substantive audit procedures surrounding areas of focus
  • Contribute to Finance team’s continuous process improvement and pursuit of excellence in systems and processes
  • Manage direct/indirect reports to ensure departmental efficiencies, including training, development, coaching, counseling and performance reviews. Works with direct reports to set clear goals, objectives and set priorities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • Great Plains knowledge/experience a plus
  • Proficient in MS office with extensive experience with MS Excel
  • Ability to research accounting guidance in line with US GAAP, as applicable to tasks on hand
  • Results-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and expeditiously
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment
  • A confident individual as well as a team player, capable of building effective internal and external relationships
  • BA in accounting, CPA preferred

ABOUT THE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

ABOUT THE ENTERPRISE DATA ARCHITECT ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Enterprise Data Architect is a highly visible and key cross-functional role that is tasked with ensuring the Tech organization is operating with a data first mentality and that data quality, integrity, consistency, and reliability are core requirements of all software/data systems. The Enterprise Data Architect will develop a detailed knowledge/understanding of the data our systems produce and provide both tactical and strategic direction as it pertains to data management, consumption, and production. This individual must possess the combination of business knowledge, technical skills, and people skills to define and guide data strategy.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Champion data quality, integrity, consistency, and reliability throughout the tech organization by defining and promoting best practices and establishing/enforcing data governance across all product squads

 

  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership on advanced data techniques, data architecture, and data integration implementations, including the assist and review of logical and physical data models as well as other important data structures (messaging, events, etc.)
  • Establish standards and guidelines for the design and development, tuning/optimization, and deployment of persistence technologies
  • Partner with the data warehousing group, product analytics, and business intelligence to ensure their data needs are being met
  • Develop specific metrics (KPIs) to assess data quality/consistency and measures/reports on these metrics periodically

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics/Statistics preferred
  • Several years of experience being responsible for data architecture on an enterprise-wide scale
  • Extensive experience modeling and implementing operational systems (transactional systems)
  • Expert knowledge and experience with both structured and semi-structured data and persistent storage systems, including both SQL based and flexible schema systems (notably PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch)
  • Experience working with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence systems. Experience in multi-dimensional modeling and developing star schemas, normalized and denormalized models, and utilizing “slow-changing” dimensions.
  • Event modeling experience required. Familiarity with Segment a plus.

ABOUT THE ASSOCIATE MANAGER, GROWTH MARKETING ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group is seeking an associate to join the Marketing & Audience Development Team in our New York office.  This role will touch many aspects of our audience development program strategy and execution - from paid media, owned media, creative development, analytics & more. We are looking for a roll-up-your-sleeves marketer with experience managing paid & owned media programs (including SEM, Programmatic Display, Paid Social, Mobile App Acquisition) for leading digital brands, with strong business acumen and willingness to learn.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and report on marketing KPIs (ROI, CPA, CVR, etc) and track performance to goals on a weekly & monthly basis, with ad hoc reporting on a as needed basis, for a wide portfolio of XO Group brands

The Account Strategist Team

The Account Strategist Team is dedicated to working with our local wedding professionals all across the country ensuring they have the best experience with The Knot. We work closely with local wedding professionals post-sale to assist customers with their digital/online ad campaigns by providing tips and insights to increase their response.  

 

The Account Strategist Position

The Account Strategist is responsible for onboarding all new accounts post-sale. You’ll work closely with Wedding Pros to help them with optimizing their storefront to connecting with the couples that are best for their business. This position is a vital role in retaining customers long term, teaching them all about our tools and how to build the best online storefront.

The Client Experience Team

Our Client Experience Team is dedicated to working with our Couples and local vendors all across the country ensuring they have the best experience with The Knot. We work closely to ensure couples are able to use our products, have access to what they need to plan their weddings and we work with local wedding professionals to assist them with their digital/online ad campaigns by providing access to their accounts and connecting them with their dedicated Account Strategists. 

The Client Experience Specialist position:

The Client Experience Specialist is responsible for providing superior customer service, marketing insights and basic tech-support to our couples and wedding pro’s!  You will manage client questions via phone, email, social channels and live chat;  assist clients with their online memberships and ad campaigns by providing tips and insights to increase their success in partnering with us.  A primary responsibility is to assist clients in navigate our online products and platform and problem solve technical issues that may be encountered.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must, as you’ll assist clients through in-bound phone calls, emails and live chat.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR, ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Director, Account Management is a key leader on XO’s National Strategy & Operations team reporting to the VP, Head of National Strategy & Operations.  This person is responsible for managing, coaching and leading a team of Account Managers whose primary focus is ensuring superior client service to our media clients throughout the post sale process. This person independently manages the team to execute and prioritize tasks as well as act as the point of escalation for the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and manage team of Account Managers, responsible for managing all aspects of the campaign lifecycle between launch and and wrap report

About the Director of Local Training & Enablement Role:

  • Direct and manage Revenue Operations team responsible for the development, execution, and measurement of strategic and tactical yield and inventory management for display, video, social, email and print ad products, including related reporting
  • Oversee short-term and long-term capacity and sell thru projections, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and full-year projections

XO Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Manager of Service Training.  In this role, the Manager of Service Training will lead the development, utilization and continuous improvement of service techniques, processes and materials. The candidate will be continuously iterating and monitoring consistency of our service process, as well as developing materials aimed at improving the onboarding experience of all new service associates. 

 

  • Prioritize opportunities for efficiency in training service team and assess new and current strategies across the organization
  • Research, develop and execute comprehensive skill training sessions across the service organization to maximize effectiveness of the team
  • Experience working with product, insights, and marketing teams in order to develop best-in-class service training presentations for product launches. Strong background in understanding and distilling technical features for both consumer facing and enterprise facing product

ABOUT THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group is looking to hire an experienced software engineer to join our Core Services team. This small team of engineers are responsible for the APIs, SDKs, and databases for the central services that support the various teams and products of The Knot. You will work on all aspects of the development lifecycle, from design through deployment, for some of the most widely used services on The Knot. You will work with a variety of teams at XO, from Product to Business Intelligence, to ensure the services built perform and meet the needs of our user-facing products as well as our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop new features and services for the teams of The Knot; work primarily in Ruby and Rails.
  • Continuously monitor performance and stability of services and databases to identify performance issues or opportunities for improvements.
  • Maintain API documentation and SDKs to help teams around XO easily consume your APIs.
  • Explore and learn new languages/tools (we’re currently exploring Elixir and Kubernetes) to continually improve the performance of our applications and infrastructure.
  • Promote best practices surrounding TDD, continuous integration, code standards, etc.
  • Engage in cross-team engineering and technology initiatives at XO.
  • Provide mentorship to junior members of the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years working on production-level web applications, ideally using Ruby & Rails.
  • 1+ years building and maintaining Restful APIs.
  • Experience working with databases and experience with data storage best practices for both SQL and NoSQL databases. MongoDB experience a plus.
  • Consider solid automated test coverage to be an important part of the development process. Experience with TDD and testing frameworks a plus.
  • Experience with Docker and deploying applications to AWS. Kubernetes experience is also a plus.
  • Familiarity with the full application stack. Experience with front-end web and/or native mobile development is a plus.
