Work directly with inside and outside counsel, investor relations, and any other stakeholders
  • Liaise with the external auditors, overseeing the quarterly financial statement reviews and the year-end audit, responding to interim review and year-end audit queries
  • Research accounting literature and apply technical standards and analysis to complex or non-recurring business issues and transactions. Prepare written accounting memos documenting such issues/transactions for review by management and external auditors
  • Monitor the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies, including FASB, SEC and PCAOB, and evaluate the accounting and reporting impact of new standards. Additionally, monitor trends among other SEC filers to ensure the company’s reports are in line with industry and overall practices and standards
  • Responsible for integration of all accounting and reporting aspects related to acquisitions, including the purchase accounting and related documentation
  • Perform and prepare required documentation for annual goodwill and indefinite-lived intangible impairment testing
  • Manage direct reports to ensure proper staffing and department efficiencies, including training, development, coaching, counseling and performance reviews. Works with direct reports to set clear goals, objectives and set priorities

About this Business Process Analyst Position and Our Team

XO Group, a publicly traded company, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business Process Analyst for a multi-month project in our exciting New York City, Austin, or Omaha office. This is an important and visible role that reports to the Manager of Internal Audit and requires strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to influence and facilitate the needs of diverse stakeholders across the company.     • critically assess current end-to-end processes and identify and document underlying application (both in-house and cloud-based)

This position in the Business Intelligence & Digital Analytics department sits at the intersection of User Experience, Product Analytics and Data Intelligence. We’re looking to hire a product marketing manager (PMM) for our growing marketing team. The PMM is the bridge between the products we build and the customers we serve. We serve both prospective and existing users and pair closely with our Product Manager stakeholders on the ideation, creation and launching of new products.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ANALYST ROLE AND OUR TEAM

You’ll be a part of building a business within a business. Our Registry team identifies and shapes products and services to help couples plan their weddings and build their families. XO’s registry product is unique in that we have a patent on aggregating registries for couples, and in turn, providing a centralized location for gifting for wedding and baby events.


The Business Development Analyst s responsible for supporting and growing registry revenue via the effective management of a portfolio of existing retail and affiliate partnerships, prospecting and negotiating new partnerships, and working closely with a cross-functional team including analytics, product development, and technology to identify program enhancements, new revenue streams and partnership opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and foster relationships with major retail and affiliate partners
  • Ongoing tracking and analysis of Registry performance trends and KPIs
  • Present periodic performance updates to major retail partners such as Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Target (over the phone and in person)
  • Initiate and execute new e-commerce and/or barter partnerships to help grow traffic and revenue for the registry business(es)
  • Secure and negotiate partnership renewals

XO Group is hiring a passionate and highly skilled Sr. Data Engineer on the Data Platform Engineering team to maintain the current email integration platform.  The Sr. Data Engineer will carry on work to develop a new platform to replace the existing platform.  In addition,  candidate will have an opportunity to work on and develop on XO’s Analytic Data Platform (Snowflake) to merge and aggregate event and operational data providing  insights for Product Analytics and Business Intelligence.  This position requires a highly organized, self-directed and highly data focused team player with strong analytical skills and deep understanding of data processing in distributed systems.  The Sr. Data Engineer will work closely with the Architect to collaborate on architecture and see the design through the complete SDLC.  In addition, candidate will work with the Product team and Email Ops personnel to understand business requirements and translate functional requirements into technical specification.

ABOUT THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group is seeking a talented and driven full-stack engineer to join our Content Squad. The Content Platform Squad is responsible for every step in the life of TheKnot.com and TheNest.com editorial and creative content: from content management systems that enable our creative teams to publish articles and promotional materials, to deliverying it blazingly fast on any device to our end users, and tying it all together with a data- and mobile-first approach. The team is charged with an ecosystem of products to delight users when they first visit TheKnot or TheNest, to build trust within the first 1500ms. This role will have a major strategic and revenue impact at a product-driven company that is by far the leader in its space, touching more than 80% of U.S. brides.

You will be building tools to help us build, distribute, and innovatively present XO’s content, which means that you will be constantly met with unique technical challenges at every layer of the stack. You should be be interested in and have the ability to build complex features, evaluate and incorporate third party systems into our ecosystem as needed, create delightful user experiences, all while producing high quality code. You will be joining a team of talented engineers spread over our US and China offices and working closely with Product and Design in building out best-in-class content platforms.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop and deliver systems that make it easy for our Editorial and creative teams deliver content to TheKnot and TheNest.
  • Produce well-tested, quality code across the full-stack.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the team
  • Participate in code and design reviews
  • Participate in the Agile process that drives inception and implementation of the best in class products
  • Stay up to date on current technologies and innovations in the field and be interested in sharing lessons learned outside of XO.
  • Enjoy working in an effective autonomous cross-functional team and take care to carry yourself and execute your work in a professional manner.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience as a professional software engineer building beautiful, scalable and high visibility web applications.
  • Experience working across the full web application stack; preferably with Ruby on Rails, although similar experience will be strongly considered.
  • Ability to navigate and produce front-end features.
  • Consider solid test coverage to be an important part of the development process. Experience with TDD and testing frameworks a plus.
  • Comfortable with buy vs. build decisions, and assessing/integrating third-party products into our architecture.
  • Comfortable with agile principles and a strong believer of the importance of agile when producing high-quality software.
  • Comfortable with infrastructure, and is willing to get into nuts and bolts of aws
  • Communicates well, love to share knowledge, always willing to learn from everyone.
  • Enjoy working in a small dynamic team, and mentoring and coaching teammates.
  • Familiar with making decisions that balance analytics and instinct.
  • Constantly strive to improve the quality of your code.

What you do

You will work closely with a team of talented developers to build tools our users love for the web and mobile devices using ASP.NET WebApi and MVC, Xamarin, React and other JavaScript frameworks.  You will be fully immersed in all aspects of web development, coding the inner workings of our site, our API, and mobile applications.

Our work environment is fast-paced, high energy, and highly collaborative. Developers are expected to work cohesively with the Product team to help determine feature sets, scope, and the best possible solutions to problems – and then implement them. We use GitHub and take Pull Requests seriously. We develop real-world projects in phases within a defined process and ship often with our automatic build server and deployment process.

What you bring

  • Deep knowledge of C# .NET , Java, or similar server-side technology
  • Skills in JavaScript and HTML/CSS
  • Experience with SQL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • A drive to get things done
  • iOS or Android development experience a plus
