ABOUT THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We’re looking for an ambitious, data-driven, proactive and strategic Social Media Associate Director to lead the XO Group social teams. This person is a creative thinker, enthusiastic about analyzing performance metrics and has a desire to make a measurable impact on audience growth and engagement. Most important, this person must be able to translate strategy to others and empower them to make creative decisions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain a social media marketing strategy that grows our traffic, video views, engagement and audience
  • Analyze existing data to provide insights, suggest content strategy and empower content creators to build unique, compelling and engaging content
  • Track and monitor the effectiveness of social initiatives and A/B tests
  • Serve as social media lead across platforms and specialist for the company across marketing, editorial and sales.
  • Monitor social media trends and experiment with industry best practices
  • Manage social team's daily duties, develop reporting on social traffic, engagement and progress to monthly goals
  • Ensure that our brand voice and vision for The Bump and The Knot are reflected across  all social platforms
  • Work closely with editorial, sales and marketing teams to help package content for social and create new ideas that will drive growth and revenue.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to manage a team 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to create and/or understand content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitter, but also have a pulse on emerging networks and a penchant for early adoption
  • Familiarity with web analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Chartbeat, Parse.ly, Crowdtangle, Social Flow, DashHudson, etc.
  • A passion for all things social and the ability to write killer headlines in your sleep
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to switch between day-to-day details and big picture as necessary

ABOUT THE DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group’s GigMasters Marketing team is looking for a smart, passionate and experienced Digital Marketing Manager to conceptualize and create campaigns that meet the needs of our consumers, our brand, and our users. The right candidate will possess the following qualities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, develop, implement and execute on consumer marketing strategy and plan. Own it!
  • Inspire potential consumers to use GigMasters, while educating current consumers with relevant content throughout booking process.
  • Develop, manage and execute consumer lifecycle programs that drive activation, ongoing usage and reactivation/retention. Identify key segments and marketing strategies against each segment across the lifecycle.
  • Drive and grow the GigMasters brand and consumer recognition through content strategy, social media channels, direct email campaigns, and more.
  • Conceptualize and strategize across Product and Marketing to create go-to-market plans for our innovative products.
  • Buy and manage SEM and paid Social Marketing to drive brand awareness and vendor requests.
  • Be an expert in creating direct emails with a clear background in email marketing - creative subject lines, CTAs, creative direction.
  • Create clear marketing hooks and value props for our products and services and turn those into incredibly effective product copy, sales talking points, sales marketing materials and more.
  • Collaborate with other teams (Sales, Account Services, Product, Creative) to gather information, support marketing needs and keep projects moving toward completion.
  • Possess expert project management skills to maintain deadlines and work with our creative team to ensure assets are delivered. Credit including branding, value proposition, and messaging to drive world-class marketing. Work with internal Brand partners and external agencies in developing the creative approach.
  • Communicate results and business impact of marketing strategies and programs to senior leadership and business partners.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Exceptional, persuasive writing skills, with the demonstrated ability to write for and connect with small business owners
  • Background in marketing with fast-paced tech company a plus
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • 4-6 years of work experience in digital marketing and communications
  • Past experience in email marketing or marketing automation preferred
  • Experience with journalistic interviewing, editorial writing, promotional copywriting
  • Portfolio of writing samples, preferably with a variety of formats and audiences
  • Demonstrated track record of using communications to achieve specific goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface across multiple departments
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Marketing or a related field
  • Detail-orientated, with high standards for brand, messaging, quality and consistency of content
  • High performing self starter, with proven ability to work in fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strategic, creative thinker with critical analysis and problem-solving skills, along with flexibility and adaptability
  • Capacity to juggle multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutions

ABOUT THE SENIOR VIDEO PRODUCER / EDITOR ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are seeking an ambitious Senior Digital Video Producer / Editor who will be responsible for finding and pitching ideas for videos, as well as researching, writing and producing scripts. This individual should have experience editing a range of content formats, making creative decisions, and demonstrating aesthetic and technical skills that support the strategic objectives of a multi-platform organization. NOTE: Please include links to content samples with your cover letter. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and articulate The Bump and The Knot voice
  • Assist developing branded video treatment and scripts for The Studio @ XO
  • Assist executing branded video productions for The Studio @ XO including hiring and managing external resources as well as being point person on productions
  • Develop the video strategy for The Bump and The Knot
  • Identify shareability in every video produced
  • Develop and grow a video team, owning its performance
  • Track innovative and emerging digital video creation and delivery
  • Own the video creation process from pitch to publish (ideas, directing, scripting, asset gathering, planning shoots, video editing, prep for publishing)
  • Channel The Bump and The Knot voice, creating smart, digestible scripts that drive social media conversations
  • Plan ahead for evergreen context pieces and feature stories that can live on our social platforms, site and app and work on executing these in a timely fashion
  • Conceptualize and develop new series, formats and content types
  • Make creative, fun, and social-driven videos that people will like and share across any of our platforms
  • Keep track of viral trends relevant to The Bump and The Knot, create content around them, and analyze the results of your work

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite — specifically, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
  • Can navigate the social web and help generate creative, visual story angles based on relevant news of the day
  • A curious, creative, critical thinker, always looking for stories & passionate about visual storytelling
  • Sharp understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) and video platforms
  • Ability to conceptualize and build graphics / titles for all videos
  • Excellent sense of pace and timing, a knowledge for the best ways to grab viewers, and a sense for how to tell a powerful story in as little time as possible.
  • A love of experimentation and trying to tell stories in new and different ways
  • Can arrange and conduct interviews with potential guests.
  • A creative thinker, problem solver, sense of humor, and great attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Prior experience at a digital media organization a plus
  • Demonstrated sophisticated aesthetic, technical skill, and knowledge of current media trends
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure and under deadlines, with strong follow through
  • Proven experience leading a small team or short term initiative
  • Organized with your time and a solid understanding of how long your projects will take
