ABOUT THE ASSOCIATE DIGITAL ART DIRECTOR AND THE TEAM

XO Group seeks a talented and enthusiastic Associate Art Director with 7+ years digital experience. As part of our in-house creative team, this position is responsible for the digital design direction of major marketing initiatives for our brands (The Knot, The Nest and The Bump), national advertising programs, and XO Group. A large focus will be on website design experience (UI, UX). The Associate Art Director will manage our Junior Designer and is a key creative partner with our ad operations and digital product team.

The ideal candidate would promote and practice user-centered design in creating products across web, mobile, email, social platforms and occasionally print. The majority of the work will be DIGITAL and focused on website and email designs, but this person must possess solid PRINT skills too.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work under the direction of the Creative Director and manage Junior Designer
  • Conceptualize and design digital platforms of major marketing and national advertising programs including but not limited to websites, emails, banner promotions, and social media graphics
  • Oversee simultaneous projects from inception to completion, reviewing project plans, timelines, designs, and deliverables
  • Inspire creativity for the Junior Designer, giving feedback and overseeing design layouts
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other designers, copywriters, product managers, developers and external vendors as well as other teams including Sales, Product, Human Resources, Public Relations, Events and Consumer Marketing to ensure that the strategic goals and objectives are met through the designs
  • Create detailed design specifications for the digital product team and prepare artwork for build, as well as maintain oversight of the build through our design review process
  • Passionately maintain brand and marketing consistency across all of our brands—XO Group, The Knot, The Nest and The Bump—while finding new and exciting ways to expand our use of our existing design elements
  • Troubleshoot and manage any workflow issues that may arise



REQUIREMENTS

  • BFA or BA in Graphic Design
  • 7+ years of digital and solid print design experience
  • Website and responsive design experience is a must
  • Strong and flexible skills interface design experience (UI, UX) and visual design
  • Ability to think about the end user of the product, how to help them best understand the key messaging and call to action, and arrange the information hierarchy accordingly
  • Exceptional portfolio of work displaying a range of digital media applications, web, mobile, email, digital banners, etc.
  • Experience with brand development and designing branded experiences (with supporting portfolio examples)
  • Passion for clean, accessible, functional design and a sophisticated design sensibility
  • Strong typography skills
  • Excellent communication skills, organization and time management skills. Must be able to clearly express ideas from brainstorming concepts to presenting final layouts.
  • Ability to multi-task various projects under tight deadlines while maintaining quality is a MUST
  • Ability to coach and mentor others to grow their abilities
  • Must be a team-player, collaborator, problem solver and owner with a passion for detail
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Sketch is a plus

ABOUT THE PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We’re looking to hire a product marketing manager (PMM) for our growing marketing team. The PMM is the bridge between the products we build and the customers we serve. We serve both prospective and existing users and pair closely with our Product Manager stakeholders on the ideation, creation and launching of new products.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive product positioning and strategy, manage product launches, and gather customer insights.
  • Together with the product team, educate both internal and external stakeholders on our product features and their benefits.
  • Create content (e.g. sales documentation, product videos, website copy, blog posts, Quora, and other forums) to articulate the benefits of our products to the world.
  • Measure and optimize the buyer journey as it relates to product feature adoption and usage
  • Work closely with product, design, PR, engineering, sales and partnerships to develop and execute creative and effective campaigns; launch marketing and site materials.
  • Understand our prospective and existing users, our competitors, and how to make our product more compelling.
  • Create and develop different marketing channels such as our website, SEM, content marketing, or events for both our core products and our Connect platform.
  • Help plan and execute product launches, coordinating with cross functional stakeholders.
  • When needed, manage and execute tactical work from creating overview docs, sales marketing materials and copywriting of high-level messaging.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing or product management for a technical product.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You know how to tell a story to a customer. Ideally, you’ve created content where none existed before.
  • A history of working on product marketing throughout a product’s lifecycle.
  • Great project management skills; being able to initiate projects and drive them to completion.
  • A strong orientation towards results. You can analyze user data and implement tracking to measure success.
  • Excellent analytical skills (experience with Google Analytics and/or MixPanel a plus).
  • A proven ability to work cross-functionally with product, design, PR, email marketing, sales, etc.

ABOUT THE SENIOR COPYWRITER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

XO Group is looking for a stellar wordsmith to join our fast-paced, in-house creative team. The Senior Copywriter will join forces with designers and stakeholders from across the company to produce engaging copy that drives major marketing messages and elevates The Knot and XO Group brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Write compelling, on-brand copy that inspires, informs and delights our audience while driving action across email, websites, banner promotions, paid media, branding campaigns, print ads, presentations, event collateral, social media and product marketing.
  • Work with the Creative Director to help lead brand strategy for The Knot and XO Group.
  • Oversee and evangelize brand voice across B2B and B2C campaigns and Corporate initiatives.
  • Conceptualize and execute creative solutions, partnering with designers, product managers and developers across the organization.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with consumer marketing, B2B marketing, product, human resources, public relations and events teams to ensure that the strategic goals and objectives are met through each deliverable.
  • Partner with the product copywriter for a cohesive voice across product and marketing copy.

About the Senior Manager, Growth Marketing role and Our Team:

XO Group is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Marketing & Audience Development Team in our New York office.  This role will touch all aspects of our audience development program strategy and execution - from paid media, SEO, social strategy, analytics & more. We’re looking for a roll-up-your-sleeves Senior Manager with a track record of managing audience development programs for leading digital brands and a strong business acumen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage paid media program across multiple formats (PPC, Display, Mobile, Social, Video)  for a portfolio of XO Group brands.  
  • Develop and implement ongoing optimization plans across all paid media efforts - adjust programs seamlessly to changing business objectives
  • Assist with development of KPIs, analyze and report on marketing KPIs and track performance to goals.
  • Develop data-backed recommendations to improve performance and identify opportunities to realized KPIs and business goals.
  • Partner with other teams (e.g., PR, editorial, product, tech) to leverage internal channels for growth and engagement
  • Develop team and cross functional partners by providing data, learnings and industry updates related to marketing

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of digital marketing experience
  • Strong experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • Proven experience running paid media campaigns (SEM, Display, Social)

About the SEO Role and Our Team:
XO Group is seeking a Senior SEO Analyst to join our product & marketing teams in our New York office.  This position will play a key role in continuing to reach and build audience for our leading brands.  The SEO Manager will have the opportunity to work directly with multiple product squads, influencing the digital brands and experiences that drive our business.  We’re looking for a roll-up-your-sleeves SEO professional with a track record of managing SEO strategy and implementation for leading digital brands.


Responsibilities:
The SEO Manager will  develop and oversee sound on-page and off-page SEO strategy across multiple XO Group business units through the following activities:

  • Conduct on-page SEO audits across multiple open source and in-house applications.
  • Develop redirect strategies overseeing implementation with tech teams.
  • Monitor and report on webmaster tool errors, sitemaps and crawl issues.
  • Conduct quality checks of all projects and monitor technology related bugs.
  • Provide monthly reporting of traffic performance and keyword rankings.
  • Develop and implement ASO strategy & tactics maximizing app downloads.
  • Perform keyword research to identify targets and work with product squads to drive growth.
  • Daily involvement in web analytics, including monitoring results of projects, locating problem areas and their causes, and providing strategies based on findings.
  • Collaborate with product, editorial, marketing stakeholders in planning meetings and discussions.
  • Provide best practices for redesigns, taxonomies and migrations
  • Train the business on SEO best practices.


Skills and Experience

  • 6-10 years experience in an SEO role with a focus on product and analytics
  • Experience with web analytics programs (Google Analytics, Webtrends, MixPanel, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable with Google webmaster tools, sitemaps, robots.txt, competitive SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush)
  • Familiar with CSS, HTML and JavaScript
  • Excellent drive and strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Understanding of Agile/Lean development process a plus.

ABOUT THE VP OF MARKETING ROLE AND THE BUMP TEAM:

The Bump is the premiere millennial brand for today’s new moms. We have an app-first approach that fits easily into the daily lives of our users, and we’ve quickly captured a healthy share of the first-time mom market. This all means that we’re growing quickly, and we’re looking for a smart, entrepreneurial candidate to become The Bump’s first VP of Marketing.

 

The VP will have complete ownership over all of The Bump’s marketing activities, including retention, acquisition, audience development, and brand management. In addition, the position will have a significant place at the senior leadership table for The Bump, and will have a strong voice in crafting and executing on the larger strategy for the business.

 

The VP will oversee a team of three marketers, who will help to execute marketing initiatives across all channels: owned, earned and paid. In addition, the VP will have access to in-house PR and Custom Content departments. Finally, the role will have the benefit of dedicated technology resources and frequent use of UX and Product teams to help execute on more complex initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and drive the brand, acquisition, retention and audience development strategies for The Bump.
  • Manage all retention campaigns and strategies via email, social and product marketing.
  • Drive user acquisition through product marketing and app install campaigns.
  • Partner with Editorial and Sales on crafting large tentpoles, including helping to execute on events tied to each.
  • Oversee and optimize audience development, especially through SEO.
  • Be a strong leader on the senior management team to help guide The Bump’s strategy.
  • Manage and mentor three marketers.
  • Own the marketing budget and establish annual budgetary goals.
  • Partner with Product and Technology to execute on larger, more complex initiatives.

Experience

  • 8 years or more as a marketer, with special focus on customer acquisition and retention.
  • B2C experience in either commerce or media businesses is strongly desired.
  • Working knowledge of SEO to help manage audience development is a plus, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with peers in other departments to achieve goals.
  • BA required; MBA, MA or MS preferred.
