About This Job and Our Team

The Studio @ XO is the branded content studio for The Knot, The Nest and The Bump. We are an award-winning team of storytellers, editors, designers and producers who bring innovative content to life for our advertising partners through articles, videos, info-graphics, events and more.

The Studio is looking for a creative and detail-oriented editor join the team. In this hybrid role, you’ll copy edit all of the content we produce as well as brainstorm ideas and write stories. The right candidate is a grammar, punctuation and spelling stickler and a talented writer and idea generator who excels in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Copy edit all content, ensuring it adheres to our style guidelines
  • Meet daily deadlines
  • Collaborate with the team to pitch creative ideas in response to advertiser RFPs
  • Write and produce branded stories for all three sites, as time allows

Skills & Experience

  • At least 1-2 years experience working as a digital editor or a copy editor (lifestyle and/or branded content experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with major style guides required
  • Excellent writing and production skills
  • Able to multitask and juggle priorities quickly; highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience working within a CMS
  • Background in journalism

Associate Project Manager

XO Group Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and ambitious leader for its Associate Project Manager position. As an Associate Project Manager, you will be the central point of contact for all campaign scheduling and implementation of design and development of advertising campaigns. You will lead communication, coordination, track progress, and ensure timely completion of all online and offline components in the post-sale realm. An ideal candidate is a strong communicator and successful at managing the production of deliverables with respect to creative, technical, and web-based constraints. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the liaison between clients, editorial, tech, account management, design, reporting, and trafficking teams for all project scheduling and execution
  • Establish and grow positive working relationships with internal and external teams by following-through and clearly communicating expectations of all team members involved
  • Interpret client, business, and technical requirements for successful production of deliverables while keeping campaign scope within originated parameters
  • Develop timelines in accordance with contracts and internal service level agreements
  • Ability to self-prioritize and prioritize for others the tasks associated with successfully launching campaign deliverables
  • Manage and communicate progress by tracking scheduled completion, identifying changes and risks, and being solution-oriented to resolve problems
  • Assist Ad Trafficking in launching new campaigns and executing revisions in our ad server, DFP
  • Uphold operational best practice by ensuring protocol is followed by all teams in the life cycle
  • Negotiate expedited timeline exceptions with Account Management, and provide solutions to management on how to mitigate in the future
  • Partner with Account Management to resolve client issues and provide solutions to management on next steps if escalation is warranted
  • Verify that all campaign components have launched as indicated by internal and external teams
  • Maintain a positive attitude while being solutions-oriented

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of project coordination/ad trafficking experience in agency or online media environment
  • Excellent process, organizational, project management, technical, and communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities with competing deadlines
  • Comfortable collaborating and communicating in a team environment and with all levels of management
  • Ability to drive deliverables through completion and hold team members accountable for their work
  • Proficient working with technology platforms and Content Management Systems
  • Microsoft Project or other project management-related software experience desired
  • Familiarity with DFP, HTML/CSS, and Print preferred
  • Experience working in an interactive agency environment or with marketing/engagement campaigns a plus
  • Positive can-do attitude, solutions-oriented, and independent problem solver

ABOUT THE REVENUE AD OPERATIONS ANALYST ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are looking for a highly analytical, detail-oriented individual to fill a key role in our organization. Reporting to the Revenue Operations Manager, the Revenue Ad Operations Analyst will be crucial to yield & inventory management as well as providing visibility into inventory trends across the XO Group Network. This is a great opportunity to grow your career and drive revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Yield management
  • Use outstanding analytical, quantitative and problem solving abilities to inform inventory decisions
  • Provide strategic support to the Sales Organization regarding daily inquiries into inventory availability
  • Proactively alert the team of potential delivery issues due to overbooking, traffic changes, and site nuances
  • Provide recommendations for alternatives when desired inventory is sold out
  • Work with the Business Intelligence team to produce inventory related reports and dashboards including sell through analysis and forecasting models
  • Strategize with team members to develop ways to improve order & inventory management processes
  • Analyze DMP data to suggest viable Audience Segments for new sales products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Sales, Account Strategy, Product Management, Production and Marketing to identify inventory opportunities
  • Manage programmatic platforms (exchanges, DSPs, header bidding)
  • Maintain accurate ratecards in OMS
  • Own the process of setting sales goals and act as an advisor to sales management using data driven reasoning
  • Manage vendor relationships and lead regular calls with organized agendas

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in ad operations or online media/advertising with experience in inventory management a plus
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills and Advanced Excel proficiency required
  • Eagerness to learn quickly and take on projects with a sense of urgency and accountability
  • Experience with DFP Premium & Operative.One or other order management tools preferred
  • Experience with Yieldex preferred
  • Knowledge of DMPs, DSPs and Audience Extension preferred, but not required
  • Candidate must possess excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable in fast-paced and changing environment

ABOUT THE SENIOR DIRECTOR, SALES DEVELOPMENT MARKETING MANAGER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are looking for a dynamic and creative leader who can conceptualize and implement multiplatform marketing programs across digital, print, and social.  This person will also lead the Sales Development Marketing team for National.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Sales Development Marketing team from a creative and operations perspective.
  • Work closely with the Head of Studio to architect cross-platform marketing programs that support integrated marketing and advertising sales initiatives.
  • Develop best practices for proposals for RFPs and advertisers at all spend levels.  
  • Lead collaboration/brainstorms with Sales Development Marketing, Studio, and Account Management to develop and customize branded content opportunities based on client RFP’s.
  • Collaborate with the Editorial, Product, and Studio teams to identify, concept and create/package sponsorable opportunities and franchises.
  • Work with EVP and VPs on advertising growth strategies, forecasting and goal setting.
  • Responsible for the creation of sales materials; including presentations, one-sheets, newsletters, media kit, research updates, etc.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 7-10 years marketing experience within the media/entertainment/publishing industry or come from a branded entertainment/production company.
  • An in-depth knowledge of and passion for digital advertising, publishing and social media.
  • Awareness and knowledge of industry trends and competitive/client insights to communicate/share with internal teams (sales, branded content, etc.) to drive innovation and develop sellable new to market opportunities that drive revenue.
  • Experience with media planning and custom content execution.
  • Creative leadership and a POV
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate custom content advertising programs to internal departments and external partners
  • Knowledge of editorial process
  • Leadership experience
  • An ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment.
