ABOUT THE INSPIRATION SQUAD PRODUCT DESIGNER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

You’re the Design owner and user advocate, working on an autonomous squad with a Product Manager, engineers, and researchers to deliver The Knot’s inspiration experiences, from conception to launch and iteration. You’re passionate about mobile & desktop web and mobile app design, love solving customer problems, and have disruptive ideas for creating amazing experiences that help couples discover and fall in love with everything from engagement rings, wedding dresses, suits and shoes to tiaras and beyond. Helping and delighting our users is at the heart of everything you do.

 

At XO Group, Product Designers own user research, validation, UX and UI and each discipline is mission-critical to success.  We’re deeply invested in growing our skills as modern, lean Designers. We’re here to solve and learn.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

You’re a strong user experience, interaction and visual designer. You’re smart, confident, highly competent and you’re a skilled communicator. You’ve worked in agile environments with Product Managers and Developers and your ability to process quantitative and qualitative data combined with your empathy are at the heart of your innovative, user-centric solutions.

 

  • 4+ years experience designing interface solutions for consumer-friendly interactive mobile web, iOS and desktop experiences.
  • BA/BS or MA/MS in Product Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interface Design or a related field (or equivalent proven field experience). We welcome seasoned Designers with non-traditional backgrounds and career trajectories.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean UX Design principles and practice including rapid prototyping, testing with users, iterating a Style Guide and working in both low and high-fidelity (supporting portfolio + references)
  • Basic familiarity with HTML, CSS, Javascript, A/B Testing and SEO.
  • The communication skills to clearly articulate your concepts, and evangelize on their behalf
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Adobe CC, and InVision.
  • Client-side, non-agency experience is a plus. You’ve known a company well and have lived with and refined the solutions you’ve delivered.

ABOUT THE INTERACTIONS PRODUCT MANAGER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are looking for an experienced product manager to own our lead generation between couples and wedding pros. You’ll be in charge of growing and balancing quantity and quality of leads to our Wedding Pro network, and thinking through new ways to start meaningful conversations between couples and Pros.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run A/B tests to optimize for lead quantity.
  • Interview Pros and Couples to understand how to improve quality of The Knot’s leads.
  • Develop a product roadmap to optimize leads and balance quantity and quality, gain internal signoff and support, and execute.
  • Prioritize bugs, cross-team support tasks, and new features to keep the team on track.
  • Conduct user research, including user interviews, wireframing, and user tests.
  • Work closely with development, design, operations, sales, and marketing to execute against a strategic plan.
  • 10% travel time required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in product management.
  • Proven success in optimizing lead forms and driving user engagement.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize day-to-day tasks while executing a broader, longterm vision.
  • Familiarity with scrum and agile processes with experience running agile teams.
  • Experience with user research and UX principles.

ABOUT THE SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and impassioned Sr. Product Manager to help us transform wedding planning into a delightful journey while helping couples get the hard work done with confidence. We’re looking for that special someone to ensure that The Knot stays #1 in Weddings by bringing your entrepreneurial spirit, creative problem solving, and user-centric design thinking to our team.

You’ll oversee strategy and execution for The Knot’s core planning products (The Ultimate Wedding Planner). These products are incredibly important to millions of engaged users and to our company.

Your squad has a great team dynamic - you’ll work closely with exceptional design and tech leads. Your Marketing and PR partners are knowledgeable and collaborative, having built up key relationships in the industry over many years.

We have built a world-class product development team and are passionate about growing product managers into masters of the craft. We have a rich product development program including monthly Product Schools, pair PMing, development budgets, guest speakers, meetups … as well a strong general focus on personal development.

This role is a great mix of forward-thinking strategy and highly creative, design-centered feature development. You should be excited about building new products from Minimally Viable Experiments to iterating and scaling the existing planning products. You love helping users solve big problems and making life’s biggest moments joyful instead of stressful

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ABOUT THE SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER ROLE AND THE LOCAL DISCOVERY TEAM:

The Knot’s wedding vendor marketplace is XO Group’s largest revenue business, accounting for nearly 60% of company revenue. We believe personalization, search, and discovery will be the #1 driver of growth and improved user experience. We also are inventing new monetization products that will allow our wedding vendors to expand their reach on The Knot in targeted, user-relevant ways. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own these related high impact initiatives. This back-end focused role would invent the systems and algorithms to power discovery across all parts of the customer journey: TheKnot.com, The Knot Wedding Planner mobile apps, and email marketing. You would lead a dedicated squad of engineers and provide strategic direction to our Austin-based data science team, reporting to the VP of Product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product strategy - what is the best path to achieving our goal; are we working on the most thing
  • Product discovery - are we using user science and hypothesis testing to maximize learning and accelerate achieving our goals
  • Execution - are we building premier products that achieve the desired outcomes for our couples, our wedding vendors, and the business
  • Process - is your squad optimized for maximum impact and velocity
  • Collaboration - you’ll be working with other squads to integrate your results into their features, and working with business teams to identify the parameters and algorithms that would lead to the most impact; are all partners aligned on strategy and tactics

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years experience as a product manager in an agile environment
  • Experience in personalization, recommendations, data science, demand shaping, or similar use of quantitative mechanics to drive user behavior
  • You can diagram 3-5 different ways to implement recommendations, with pros & cons
  • You care about Outcomes over Output - the goal is more important than the roadmap
