The Knot’s local marketplace for couples and wedding pros is a huge opportunity for our users, and our company. Finding, and booking local vendors is known to be one of the biggest pain points for our users and many of America’s wedding pros look to The Knot to grow their business.

We’re looking to add a passionate product manager to this team which is at the center of our company’s mission and growth.

In addition to the great cross-functional team you’ll have access to, we’re building one of the best product organizations in New York. You’ll be exposed to best-in-class tools and techniques from our user science team. You’ll be paired with a full-stack product designer. You’ll work with a team of bright engineers who are committed to the success of your product. On top of all this, you’ll be mentored and coached as a PM learning from our product curriculum, guest speakers, and super smart colleagues. We are very committed to developing our people.

What we love about you:

  • You’ve spent a few years as a BSA or Product Manager -- or you’ve got equivalent training, education, and experience.
  • You learn quickly and hustle like crazy.
  • You can groom, curate, and maintain a backlog like nobody’s business.
  • You know how to break down a complex project into workable stories (tickets, components, etc).
  • You get pumped about user problems, and can execute a great plan to solve them.
  • You have good instincts around behavioral data, even if you’re still getting to know platforms like Google Analytics and Mixpanel.
  • You know how to collaborate with designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to get stuff done.
  • Though new to it, you’re eager to ramp up your Agile skills (your copy of The Lean Startup is dog-eared, underlined, highlighted, and worn-in through re-reading).
  • You have some experience leading Scrum/Agile meetings and standups.
  • You’ve at least started to understand User Science -- like surveys, interviews, and usability testing -- and are really, really excited to learn more.
  • You’ve got a couple solid releases on your resume, and don’t mind bragging about them….
  • ...but you can also pick out a few ways that those releases could have gone better.
  • You’re a stellar communicator -- on paper, in person, over email, on Hangouts, via Slack, and whatever else they think of next (telepathy?).
  • You love to say ‘yes’, but are super comfortable saying ‘no’ and can do so in a way where your stakeholders are onboard with the decision.
  • You know your way around rapid-prototyping tools like Sketch, InVision, and Marvel.
  • You have a strong technical background or understanding, even if you’ve never held a technical position
  • You have experience working with 3rd party integrations or are excited to add this skill to your resume
  • Like us, you think that weddings are totally rad.
  • You’re interested in dynamics of multi-sided marketplaces: e.g. trust, marketplace liquidity, network effects, monetization.

What you’ll love about us:

  • We always put our users first -- and our users are awesome.
  • We’ve got awesome products that solve real problems.
  • We’re a real business! At The Knot, you’ll have both the fun, entrepreneurial spirit of an innovative startup and the stability of a 20-year-old company with money in the bank.
  • Both your tactical product management and your creative thinking will be put to great use here.
  • You’ll learn a ton from our killer User Science team.
  • You’ll be surrounded by the most collaborative, supportive, and intelligent product, design, and engineering folks out there.
  • It’s an exciting time to join: we’re innovating non-stop, and will have some very fun challenges to tackle together.
  • We like to party, and we really bring it at karaoke.
  • There’s so much room to grow here that it’s almost dizzying.
