ABOUT THE DIGITAL PRODUCT DESIGNER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

This is the first Digital Product Designer in-house role for the GigMasters team! We are looking for an experienced, full-stack Digital Product Designer with both UI and UX experience, to join the GigMasters product team. The right candidate will possess the following qualities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as a partner within the product team, contributing at a strategic and tactical level.
  • Work collaboratively within product teams on defining requirements, producing wireframes, user flows, user interfaces and interactions, complete visual designs, prototyping, testing, and delivering pixel perfect design assets.
  • Contribute to the brand visual language and user experience through the honing of our brand digital guidelines and holistic site experience development.
  • Work as a partner within the product team, contributing at a strategic and tactical level.
  • Balance needs of users with technical constraints and business objectives.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to user interaction through intuitive and engaging solutions and design.
  • Design and iterate on interfaces and interactions for desktop, web, and mobile devices, including iOS and Android apps.
  • You’ll maintain a spirit of shared ownership, cooperation, and accountability through all phases of product development: conception through release, and post-release.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define and deliver innovative, iterative solutions.
  • Work with the engineering team to meet technical requirements for projects.
  • Deliver design assets with complete UI implementation specifications. Pair with front-end developers to ensure best execution.
  • Effectively present and discuss solutions with stakeholders.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  • 5+ years proven experience designing user interface solutions for interactive media, mobile, and web.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and favorite prototyping tool(s)
  • Demonstrated experience with brand development and designing branded experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience with UX design principles and practice.
  • Experience working as a UX/UI designer in a mobile-first, Lean UX process.
  • Experience designing for iOS and Android applications.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; iOS, Android.Excellent typographic, layout, and visual system design skills demonstrated through a portfolio.
  • E-Commerce experience a plus.
  • Illustration abilities a plus.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DESIGN ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

Reporting to the VP of UX and Design, the Director of Product Design will lead and mentor a talented team of 3-4 Product Designers that work in a cross-functional squad model. You will also work closely with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to guide the creation of compelling user experiences that connect engaged couples with a dynamic marketplace comprised of premier wedding professionals.

You are an influential team leader with a true design background and has a strong visual point of view that is complimented by a deep understanding of UX fundamentals and standard methodologies. You are a vocal advocate for our customers and users and have a strong understanding of how data and qualitative research contribute to building a great product. In addition, you are willing to become an active participant with our product squads when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design Leadership: You’ll be a key player in developing The Knot’s user-centered design vision and applying standards across products to ensure a consistent, compelling user experience.
  • Mentorship and Career Development: You’ll help grow and mentor design skills, as well as develop a tailored career path for a team of passionate and talented product design professionals.
  • Help product squads break down complex problems and utilize shown design methods like design studios, design sprints, customer journey mapping, and user story mapping to deliver value to our customers and users.
  • Apply a deep understanding of our couples and vendor marketplace to support their needs and experiences with our suite of wedding-planning tools and marketplace products.
  • Design premier and visionary digital products that couples will love, including responsive web and native mobile applications for iOS and Android.
  • Oversee and provide actionable design feedback on product design solutions, prototypes, A/B test results, and compiled qualitative research findings.
  • Promote overall awareness and competence in design thinking and mentoring not only your own design team but all those who contribute to the user experience of our products.
  • Evangelize the importance of a design-focused culture to product and engineering partners and stakeholders within the company.
  • Support our existing program of User science that includes usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, and qualitative research efforts to ensure that all projects are motivated by user needs and business outcomes.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in product design, UX, and visual design
  • At least 5 years of design team leadership and management experience
  • Verbal and written communication: the ability to lead productive meetings, create effective and useful product design documentation, and maintain alignment across a complex suite of products
  • Experience working in a product organization, driving design from planning to release, and supporting continued design iteration
  • Expertise across all facets of human-centered design and user experience, spanning visual design, UX strategy, experience/interaction design, user research/assessment, and prototyping
  • Experience designing for marketplace and commerce products / platforms is strongly desired
  • Understanding of leadership and development techniques as they relate to leading design teams, hiring processes, and developing team talent

ABOUT THE PRODUCT DESIGNER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are looking for an enthusiastic UX/UI designer who wants to build products that matter! The Knot product designers are partners in full-stack, agile squads—collaborating on purposeful solutions that transform our business and deliver the highest value and experience to our planning couples. This position will execute under direction from senior design.   • Collaborate with senior designers, product managers and engineering partners to define and deliver innovative, iterative solutions
  • Participate in user research and testing, gather user feedback and communicate your findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Build low and high fidelity prototypes
  • Contribute to the brand visual language and cohesive user experience as an ongoing creative endeavor through the honing of our brand digital guidelines, growth of our pattern library, and holistic site experience development
  • Work collaboratively within product teams on defining requirements, producing wireframes, storyboards, user flows, user interfaces and interactions, visual designs, prototyping, testing, and delivering pixel perfect design assets

  • Participate in design team reviews/critiques at various stages of UX and visual design phases to maintain a balanced and holistic product and brand overview

ABOUT THE VENDOR EXPERIENCE PRODUCT MANAGER ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented product manager to own the product set for our Wedding Professionals. You’ll be in charge of auditing, stabilizing, and improving our Pro tool, while researching and building the next offering for that maintains The Knot’s competitive advantage in the wedding space!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and identify the next new opportunity for The Knot’s customer base of Wedding Professionals.
  • Run independently with a remote engineering team in Guangzhou, China, to improve our pro tools.
  • Develop a product roadmap, gain internal signoff and support, and execute.
  • Prioritize bugs, cross-team support tasks, and new features to keep the team on track.
  • Conduct product research, including: profit/loss reporting, competitive analysis, trends, forecasts, opportunities, threats, etc.
  • Conduct user research, including user interviews, wireframing, and user tests.
  • Work closely with development, design, operations, sales, and marketing to execute against a strategic plan.
  • 10% travel time required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in product management.
  • Proven success in defining, building, and releasing software-based offerings that drive customer or end-user ROI.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize day-to-day tasks while executing a broader, longterm vision.
  • Familiarity with scrum and agile processes with experience running agile teams.
  • Experience with user research and UX principles.
  • Experience with CRMs, Salesforce, SaaS products and/or CMS tools.
  • Experience with conducting build vs. buy software analysis a plus.

We are seeking an experienced and impassioned Sr. Product Manager to help us transform wedding planning into a delightful journey while helping couples get the hard work done with confidence. You’ll oversee strategy and execution for The Knot’s core planning products (The Ultimate Wedding Planner). These products are incredibly important to millions of engaged users and to our company.

ABOUT THE SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER - LOCAL DISCOVERY ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
 
The Knot’s wedding vendor marketplace is XO Group’s largest revenue business, accounting for nearly 60% of company revenue. We believe personalization, search, and discovery will be the #1 driver of growth and improved user experience. We also are inventing new monetization products that will allow our wedding vendors to expand their reach on The Knot in targeted, user-relevant ways. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own these related high impact initiatives. This back-end focused role would invent the systems and algorithms to power discovery across all parts of the customer journey: TheKnot.com, The Knot Wedding Planner mobile apps, and email marketing. You would lead a dedicated squad of engineers and provide strategic direction to our Austin-based data science team, reporting to the VP of Product.

Responsibilities:
