The Strategy Specialist Team

The Strategy Specialist Team is dedicated to working with our local vendors all across the country ensuring they have the best experience with The Knot. We work closely with  local wedding professionals post-sale to assist customers with their digital/online ad campaigns by providing tips and insights to increase their response.  

 

The Customer Support Position

The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for providing superior customer service, marketing insights and basic tech-support to our local wedding pro’s!  You will manage customer questions via phone and email; assist customers with their online ad campaigns by providing tips and insights to increase their response.  A primary responsibility is to assist customers in navigate our online platform and problem solve technical issues that may be encountered.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must, as you’ll assist customers through in-bound phone calls and emails.  

 

The Customer Support Specialist responsibilities:

  • Accurately, efficiently and professionally answer all incoming phone calls and emails
  • Communicate thoroughly with customers, tech teams and other team members
  • Upsell current clients to new products to enhance their business
  • Save current customers from cancelling their partnership
  • Problem-solve technical questions and issues that customers may have and work cross-departmentally to resolve them
  • Assist difficult customers or situations with a calm and professional demeanor

 

The Customer Support Specialist qualifications:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer Service experience preferably in the advertising industry
  • Experience selling existing customers and ability to identify upsell opportunities, pitch products and close sales, is a huge plus.
  • Previous experience assisting small to medium businesses and the ability to adapt to a variety of customer types.
  • Comfortable handling difficult customers or situations, keeping calm.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Google Docs) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • College degree preferred

ABOUT THE LOCAL SALES EXECUTIVE ROLE AND OUR TEAM

We are looking for a go-getter with a strong background in closing high-volume sales, specifically new accounts. Having online advertising experience is ideal.. You own the cold call and can close deals in the blink of an eye. Others characterize you as a people person, and you can easily build relations with managers and local businesses in order to reach sales targets and boost The Knot’s market presence.

This role is located in NYC where you will have the opportunity to take on The Knot from an inside sales role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Give prospective clients a strong, crisp & on point presentation over the phone
  • Hold yourself accountable to meet and exceed all sales and performance goals on a consistent basis
  • Educate potential clients on the value of the Knot & how our partnership can grow their business
  • Be inquisitive, confident and know how to ask great questions to uncover the client need and be able to eloquently convince the client why The Knot is the right place to advertise
  • Committed to prospecting & cold calling in order to increase our market presence across your assigned region
  • Be persistent - consistently following up with potential clients to close sales is just want you do
  • Know how to make a recommendation based on the customer’s needs/customize a plan for the client

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Past experience selling multi-media advertising platforms
  • Experience in consultative, high-volume sales on a daily, weekly basis
  • Proven track record of prospecting and closing new accounts
  • CRM software experience, Salesforce a plus
  • Previous experience selling a digital based advertising solution in a transaction marketplace a plus
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 years advertising sales, 1 year outbound call experience
  • Experience in the wedding/bridal industry a plus

ABOUT THE OFFICE AND OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

  • Ensure smooth functioning of all critical business systems & office processes.
  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to internal constituents
  • Assist the Senior Operations Manager in keeping the office running like a well oiled machine

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide operational support to other departments as needed
  • Assist with administration of critical office software and systems including but not limited to: Google Drive, Kudos, Office 365, Samanage, Gmail, ShoreTel, and Slack
  • Make sure all employees maintain the necessary network, hardware & software configuration
  • Order all hardware & software for new and existing employees subject to the approval of the Senior Operations Manager
  • Ensure smooth onboarding experience for all new employees with regard to hardware, software, and supplies.
  • Assist with minor office repairs & improvements
  • Assist Senior Operations Manager with hardware, software and systems support issues reported on the Operations JIRA board.
  • Assist with purchasing and procurement of office supplies, hardware, and software subject to the approval of the Senior Operations Manager
  • Keep the office organized and running smoothly
  • Administrative tasks: expenses, travel etc.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess 2+ years of experience in operations or related field
  • Proven track record of driving consistently impactful results
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exception organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Prior experience with a CRM system such as SalesForce or ZenDesk a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface across multiple departments
  • Strong analytics, report-building and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of or strong desire to learn SQL
  • Bachelor’s Degree

The Sales Operations Data Specialist Team

The Sales Operations Data Specialist Team is dedicated to ensuring our internal and external data is robust and accurate. This is accomplished by meticulous research and problem solving to ensure both visitors to TheKnot.com and internal business users have access to the most  up-to-date and accurate information available.  Additionally our team works with our local sale support teams to quickly and efficiently verify and update all incoming and existing data to help create sale opportunities for our Account Executives.   

The Data Specialist Position

The Data Specialist Position is the gate keeper of incoming data to our business. You will be responsible for meticulously cleaning all incoming and existing records in our databases and internal systems. To manage data you will be researching, identifying duplicative information, updating, and adding information you find during your research. Additionally you will work with our Account Executives and Strategy Specialists to manage lead creation and conversion requests. Amazing attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize are musts as you will be sifting through large quantities of data and juggling multiple projects of varying importance. You must also have excellent communication skills and an ability to work with sales teams and internal and external operations teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of projects and data work.   

The Data Specialist responsibilities:

  • Existing Data Cleansing and maintenance
    • Accessing queue of existing sales leads via a customer management database
    • Performing online research via several sources to validate and update information.
    • Communicating with sales team to maintain a healthy lead pipeline
  • Incoming Data Cleansing
    • Accessing queues of incoming sales leads to ensure our sales team has excellent lead data
    • Verify legitimacy of business via online research
    • Cross reference various internal systems to avoid duplicative data creation
    • Add/update any information via online search
    • Cross team communication and collaboration to create new accounts
  • Other Data Projects as needed
    • Internal systems lead clean up and on-going maintenance
    • Lead list processing
    • Quality Checking data work done by internal and external teams
    • Other internal projects as needed
