ABOUT THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ANALYST ROLE AND OUR TEAM

You’ll be a part of building a business within a business. Our Registry team identifies and shapes products and services to help couples plan their weddings and build their families. XO’s registry product is unique in that we have a patent on aggregating registries for couples, and in turn, providing a centralized location for gifting for wedding and baby events.


The Business Development Analyst s responsible for supporting and growing registry revenue via the effective management of a portfolio of existing retail and affiliate partnerships, prospecting and negotiating new partnerships, and working closely with a cross-functional team including analytics, product development, and technology to identify program enhancements, new revenue streams and partnership opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and foster relationships with major retail and affiliate partners
  • Ongoing tracking and analysis of Registry performance trends and KPIs
  • Present periodic performance updates to major retail partners such as Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Target (over the phone and in person)
  • Initiate and execute new e-commerce and/or barter partnerships to help grow traffic and revenue for the registry business(es)
  • Secure and negotiate partnership renewals
  • Identify and build relationships with prospective partners
  • Monitor adherence of legal terms and contractual obligations with input from legal
  • Work closely with marketing and product development teams to develop and execute marketing plans geared at driving awareness and usage of registry tools and services
  • Help communicate and resolve technical issues between the XO Group technical team and external partners
  • Administer annual Registry market research, summarize findings and share insights internally and externally
  • Collaborate with other XO teams (Advertising, Local, PR, etc.) for joint retailer initiatives

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • BA (1-3 years of work experience, e.g. Business Development, Consulting, or General Management)
  • Consumer web company experience required (experience supporting or managing online services/businesses)
  • Experience with setting business goals, objectives, and strategies
  • Superior ability to analyze data, graph important trends, and identify key learnings/insights
  • Excellent presentation/ “pitch” skills (strong experience with Powerpoint)
  • Great relationship building and people skills
  • Strong negotiator and comfortable reviewing and revising legal terms
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Internally - able to keep internal team informed of key issues and projects on ongoing basis
  • Externally - able to position issues sensitively for external partners (responsive to varying perspectives and “agendas”)
